Dear OCF family,
We are reaching out to you with a heartfelt appeal for urgent assistance for approximately 20 of our students who reside in the Kibera slums and are severely affected by the ongoing floods in Kenya. The floods have tragically claimed the lives of 103 individuals and displaced 28,484 people across the country, with a significant number being women and children living in vulnerable areas such as Nairobi slums and low-lying regions.
These floods have left many of our students in Kibra in dire need, with some being forced out of their homes and lacking basic necessities such as shelter, food, clean water etc. It's a truly heart-breaking situation, and they are in urgent need of our support.
We are reaching out to you for assistance in providing food aid to approximately 20 households within our program who have been severely impacted by the floods. With an estimated budget of $30 per household, we aim to provide food assistance to these students and their families for approximately three weeks. The MET department has forecasted that the rains will reduce in the next three weeks.
Please consider making a donation starting from $20. You can adjust the quantity using the + sign below; each unit represents a $20 contribution. Your generosity and compassion can help provide them with the relief they desperately need.
